We are a small cafe in all senses of the word. We are locally crafted and offer a varieties of delicious coffee drinks from vanilla soy lattes to organic drip coffees. We also offer awesome sandwiches for lunch including selections ranging from our curry chicken salad sandwich to our "adult" grilled cheese. Vegetarian & Gluten free options are available with our homemade from scratch soups. Our most notable is our butternut squash with curry & goat cheese. We also refreshing drinks such as our basil limeade, rosemary ice tea, vanilla lemonade and a cucumber apple cooler. We are a new twist on a coffee shop/cafe offer crafted items that are meant to surprise any palate. This is a walk-up service cafe. Kristen & Robert are the owners are usually running the show. Kristen has may years experience in bartending & usually is the creator of all of our drinks Robert has been a chef from a gastro pub in Atlanta to high end American in the North East. Most recently he opened a casual dining restaurant with a respected group in Charleston. Together they are looking to create a fun energetic unique experience in Charleston Come check us out & have fun with it.....we are!

This is a robust, tangy vinegar based heirloom barbecue sauce & marinade with just the perfect hint of pepper & a slight sweet undertone produced in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina. A 30+ year family recipe to perfectly accent and bring out, not overpower, the flavor of your pork, steak, poultry, seafood, wild game and everything in between. It has even been used as a salad dressing. Gluten free, fat free, cholesterol free and preservative free. It's just that good! For years this sauce has made appearances at local gatherings amongst family and friends with everyone always inquiring as to why we have yet to market the the product to the public. That time has come. The story of this delicious heirloom bbq sauce dates back to 1980 in Gifford, South Carolina. It was first produced in small, specialty batches at Big Ed's Barbecue Restaurant & Pigtail Hunt Camp deep in the heart of the South Carolina Lowcountry. The local gentlemen would gather around after days of hunting, family activities, & the like to tell stories while enjoying the delicious sauce and ice cold beverages. Good times, great friends & a savory heirloom barbecue sauce. We are also very proud to be deemed a South Carolina Certified Product by the South Carolina Department Of Agriculture as well as very involved members of the South Carolina Specialty Foods Association & the Lowcountry Local Initiative. We understand the the importance of a gluten-free diet and the impact that Celiac Disease can have on someone so we have filled a void in the market to meet this demand without losing that delicious taste that we all know and love. -The Sauce Boss

Poe's Tavern

Welcome to Poe's Tavern, located two blocks from the beach on Sullivan's Island. Named in honor of Edgar Allan Poe, we're best known for great burgers and drinks. Much like his work, the life of Edgar Allan Poe was short, tragic and shrouded in mystery. Best known as the author of the popular poem "The Raven", Poe is credited with creating the detective and horror story genres. After a brief stint at the University of Virginia, Poe enlisted in the army under the pseudonym Edgar Allan Perry and was stationed at Fort Moultrie at the western end of Sullivan's Island for thirteen months beginning November 18,1827. His time on the island inspired "The Gold Bug", a story about a mystical beetle that led to buried treasure. He died alone, impoverished and inebriated at the age of 40 amid conflicting accounts of his demise, yet left an indelible legacy on American literature.
