Plow to Chow

April 14th – 8 am - 2pm

Celebrate the kick-off of the 2018 downtown Charleston Farmers Market in Marion Square with Lowcountry Local First and some of our Eat Local Month partners!  Enjoy free tastings prepared by local chefs using fresh, local produce from Limehouse Produce. We’ll have kids activities and an interactive photo booth open to everyone.

Free tastings will be provided by two local chefs:

10 – 11:30 a.m. — Chef Chris Stewart, Glass Onion
12 – 1:30 p.m. — Chef Kelly Franz, Magnolia’s

Slow Food Charleston will join our tent to provide free, fun activities for kids and all young at heart. Slow Food is cultivating relationships between the youngest of consumers and the Lowcountry foodshed through play and taste education. The chapter’s unique Tiny Tastemaker initiative offers a curriculum of hands-on activities that aim to create a positive and meaningful impression of our local food community. Tiny Tastemakers will be encouraged to create a work of art with the season’s freshest ingredients, provided by Limehouse Produce. A veggie sculpting competition will encourage builders to create something unique with different fruits and vegetables, and a veggie printing station will allow artists to take home a little bit of the Charleston farmers market.
