Title: HBA Program Administrator
Location: Charleston, SC
Term: Part-time, temporary: $20/hr; 20-30 hours/week
Reports to: Hispanic Business Association Board of Directors

The Hispanic Business Association (HBA) is a nonprofit organization created to advocate, promote and support Hispanic entrepreneurs and business owners. HBA does this through educating the community and providing the necessary resources to launch their business ideas.

The HBA Program Coordinator divides his/her time between stewardship of existing members, growing the membership, coordinating communications, events and fundraising efforts to support the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

– Grow HBA Membership through written, phone, and face-to-face outreach.
– Work closely with the Board of Directors to support marketing efforts promoting the HBA and its members.
– Assist with press releases for HBA activities and members as needed.
– Lead stewardship/retention plan & execution for membership.
– Organize all events – securing speakers and venues with consultation from the Board of Directors.
– Work alongside the Board of Directors to set membership budget and achieve revenue goals.
– Add and maintain member profiles in the database.
– Develop and execute a membership communication strategy and calendar.
– Solicit feedback and provide ongoing management of membership experience/stewardship.
– Share community event tabling responsibilities with members of the Board of Directors.
– Share new/renewing member packet and expiration/renewal notice mailings.

Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following traits:

– Experience in nonprofit sector including sales, fundraising, events, or membership coordination
– Extremely organized and highly detail oriented
– Excellent interpersonal skills and an energy that attracts others
– Bilingual: excellent written and oral communication skills in English and in Spanish
– Ability to represent HBA in a professional manner with diverse constituencies
– Thrives on networking and building relationships
– Ability to handle multiple projects and wear the many hats required of a grassroots nonprofit
– Demonstrated strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office. CRM experience preferred
– Able to work some evenings and weekends

Working Conditions

The Program Administrator works in an office environment, but the mission of the organization may sometimes take them to non-standard workplaces. The Program Administrator works a standard work week but will likely be required to work some evenings and/or occasional weekends for outreach, member mixers, or to monitor program activities. We will work with the Program Administrator to ensure appropriate comp time.
