Making the Most of LLF Membership: Alex Shi, Charleston Payroll
If you have ever attended events like our Local Socials or workshops, you have probably seen his face. September is all about making sure our members are utilizing their member benefits. It made sense to catch up with Alex Shi of Charleston Payroll, who has been an active LLF member for the past 8 years.
1. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and what you do for work?
I’m Alex and I was born and raised in Georgia. My parents both immigrated to the US from Taiwan, and met here in the states. I enjoy UGA football, hiking, mountain biking, and photography. I’ve been living in Charleston for over 8 years now and moved here to start Charleston Payroll with my business partners, Eric and Jenna Lee Wright.
2. What are some of your favorite LLF member benefits?
I personally love the networking and the great team at LLF. I rarely miss an LLF Local Social because it’s a great place to meet other local business owners and supporters and hear what’s going on in our community. And the Business Summit is also a great community experience as well!
3. What advice about making the most of membership would you give to someone who just joined Lowcountry Local First?
Don’t be afraid to ask for help. If there’s resources or connections you need — the LLF team is more than happy to try to help you. Also, you only get as much as you put in. If you don’t attend events or workshops, then you’re really not maximizing your membership potential.
