Support Your Local Farmers with a CSA Membership

Apr 6, 2018

There’s nothing better than filling your plate with farm fresh foods harvested by your local farmer – so why not do it all season long? Becoming a member of a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a great option to not only support your Lowcountry farmers, but to ensure you’re always getting fresh food grown with love.

Being a member of a CSA means you are purchasing a “share” of the farm. Each week, you will receive a share of the harvest while helping support the season’s crops and your local farmer’s work to produce it. Farms offer shares with great variety, including mixed produce, beef and the option to purchase “add on’s” like eggs, cheeses, seafood and honey. Buying your produce through a CSA means that you aren’t just getting your fruits and veggies for the week – you’re getting the best fruits and veggies (and maybe more!) during their peak season.

When exploring your options, you’ll find more than you imagined, from share sizes, to products, to locations for pick up – even doorstep delivery. With farms delivering all over the region, it can be hard to choose which CSA is right for you. Here we have made a list of farms and CSAs, complete with contact information and pick up sites, so you know exactly from who, and where, you’ll be getting this season’s crops.
